Taboo Freedom: Ode To Black History Month 2021

What's the definition of free? I mean, being free. Mankind brought us from ships and taught us that heaven is the key?
Blinded by the blurred lines, of bright, painted brush strokes, of a promising, Utopian-Society.
But wait! I only see one dominating shade taking over this life-sized canvas while leaving the rest of the hues with a pledge of an illusion, of what can possibly be. Convincing the packs of shades of "their" version of the "true American Dream".
This isn't a reality for people like me. This is what is known as an 'Taboo Freedom' indeed!
So allow the thick, heavy drops of equality, rain down on me, and let the minorities sing,
"Let the real Freedom ring!"
But Is it just me?
Or does it seem that we stray away from valuable truths that will nourish our bodies and cleanse our tongues, like bitter-sweet tasting juices, of the ripest, fruit?
Naaaaa I don't think so;
Instead, we fight for our own hard truths, in backlashing ways, which may go against instilled morals, to gain hindsight of our version of the picture-perfect scenery we wish to one day sit back in awe and say, "it was all worth it, you see!".
At the same time our souls bleed because unfortunately, it will be unseen for many, tear shed of desperation starts to inflate.
Don't let the plague of continuous cycles of stereotypical strife continue to kill, steal, and destroy the mental state of your mind. In opposite, we decide to worship instant gratitudes, that carry over no riches for when our bodies diminish, into the afterlife. But wait, there's more!
Meet its Partner in crime known as deep oppression, who lingers on to generations and beyond, resembling a forecast of a chilled, dark, starry, night.
This is my Peoples' Taboo Freedom in actuality you see. For decades we turn the other cheek to select easy routes in a chance to escape harsh realities served on a golden platter for us to indulge in greed.
Lord, I'm desperate, you know I'm running out of options here! Please have mercy on me,
Let the Real Freedom ring!
To all the Beautiful, Brown, souls, old and new, always remember to live out your days, until your hair follicles turn grey. Never getting distracted nor discouraged when life's unexpected missions, turn into wealthy fortunes followed by dangerous dismays.
